Founded in 1992, the Shepherd's Godparent Home is a crisis center located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Bangor, Maine. Our doors were opened to residents in 2003 and our two shelter homes house young women in their teens up to their 40s who are pregnant or parenting and are in crisis. We endevor to support life from conception to natural death and wish to help in the very difficult times that may come in between.
Confidentiality is a key ingredient in our organization. We are determined to have a judgment free place where you feel safe and cared for. Our Homes are recognized as homeless shelters by Maine State Housing Authority. This recognition is helpful in achieving housing assistance as you transition from our programs.
