Who We Are

We offer necessary assistance to obtain services for case management counseling, medical care, mental health, substance abuse treatment, education assistance, and housing assistance for our residents.

Over 20 years of experience assisting and supporting women parenting from conception to teen years.

Founded in 1992, the Shepherd's Godparent Home is a crisis center located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Bangor, Maine. Our doors were opened to residents in 2003 and our two shelter homes house young women in their teens up to their 40s who are pregnant or parenting and are in crisis. We endevor to support life from conception to natural death and wish to help in the very difficult times that may come in between.

about us

How lovely is your dwelling place, LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

- Psalms 84:1-4 (NIV)
